I used the Introduction Process with a client last week, and she seemed quite interested. The following day I got an email from her saying that I needed to contact this person. That person had just received an inheritance and could use my help. Two days later, I got another referral from the same client with another person who wanted to speak with me.

I've seen a lot of different ways to approach Referrals, but none of them made me feel comfortable. So, I didn't do anything. This approach - I like. I feel good about going over it with my clients and see how it is an important part of the process. - JB San Diego, CA

I took my first prospect through the New Client Aquisition Process. The first thing I noticed is how in control of the meeting I felt, even though it was the first time I had done it. The client turned out to be a good fit, and I accepted them as clients. They wanted to work with me as well. Later in the day, I got an email from the couple thanking me for deciding to take them on as clients and that they were excited. That was the first time in my career that I had someone thank me for taking them as clients. KR, Brooksfiled Illinois

I began this program with the anticipation that it would 'take me to the next level'. I realized that I needed to find a better way to service and replicate my top clients. Interestingly enough, the program did much more than that, given the timing of the sessions. Since the bulk of the program occurred during the Fall of 2008 (arguably one of the worst financial crisis of our time), some might say the timing was bad. To the contrary, I believed this program did a lot to focus our team on the most important clients and develop a systematic process for serving them while making sure that the lower level clients knew who to contact with questions. As a result of this, we had very little attrition of our top clients and have received more than enough 'introductions' (or referrals) to give us a big start to 2009. I would recommend this coaching process to any advisor who has the burning desire to improve their practice and take it to a new level. Thank you for all of your help. - JB, Kalamazoo, Michigan

Shortly after we had gone through the client classification process with you, one of our AAA clients stopped by the office to update us on the progress of her kitchen project. In the course of our conversation, I told her that she was one of just five AAA clients. Her initial response was to question what exactly that meant. As I explained to her the definition of AAA, she began to beam, and was close to tears. She has two Master's Degrees and part of her unhappiness with her existing company is that she never felt appreciated and that her advisor talked down to her." - JB, Michigan

There were many times in the last months I would have liked to cancel or postpone our calls but did not and glad I kept them. You kept me on track and put things in perspective. My goodness, we have weathered this downturn better than most because were about ¼ of the way through the Pareto program.
Make this (Pareto Systems) your top priority, as Covey says you need to “sharpen the saw” and view this as a week by week saw sharpening commitment. Don’t second guess and take one week at a time.
This is probably the best thing offered to my team to actually improve quality of life and grow the business the way we want to. I actually forced myself back to my music after a 25 year break and will start performing 20-30’s music on my Uke in the spring, thanks to Pareto Systems. - TM, Ohio

It has been pretty busy around here lately (considering the markets, etc) so I am a little late reporting our information… We have brought on no less than 4 new clients via referrals since our last discussion. We have found the process to be very comfortable for both us and our clients… We have more new clients that were referrals in the pipeline. What is nice about those is they are from CPAs we work with and have not had success in the past getting many if any referrals from. - DH, Washington
