
Kelowna is located in the Okanangan in the interior of British Columbia approximately 250 miles from Vancouver and 350 miles west of Banff. Kelowna is the business centre of the Okanangan Valley, a region with several lakes ideal for fishing and boating, over 80 vineyards, 60 golf courses, and 2 world class ski resorts.
Although, it is traditionally known for its agriculture and tourism industries, it is now receiving recognition as a world class wine producing region. Kelowna also has a growing high technology sector that includes aerospace development and service, hence the reference to Kelowna as the silicon vineyard of the north.
Kelowna's airport is the 11th busiest in Canada with approximately 35 scheduled flights a day; it's also one of the fastest growing in North America and has direct flights to San Francisco, Seattle, Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver.
